Our Misson: to revitalize the local agricultural economy on the Coastside.

A century ago, the majority of food eaten in the San Francisco Bay Area was grown within 50 miles of it. And much of it specifically was grown by small farmers on our stretch of Coastside between Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz.

Over time, the food system changed, making it harder for small farmers to find markets to sell into and harder for consumers to find local produce to eat.

Our mission is to revitalize our local agricultural economy, thus making it:

  • possible for farmers to once again grow viable small businesses that sustain livelihoods in our community.

  • possible for all consumers to once again have access to the local produce that small farmers in our region work so hard to grow.

We aim to do this via a centralized platform that simplifies marketing, distribution, and processing of locally grown & raised products from our Coastal region.

Through a single point of contact, we make it logistically feasible for any business or institution in Northern & Central California - no matter how big or small - to live their values by transparently sourcing from small local farms.

What Sets Us Apart

Our Progress

Since founding Coastside Local Food Hub in February 2024, we have facilitated millions of dollars of produce sales each year for small farmers on the Coast.

Of the produce we sold in 2025:

  • 75% was certified organic.

  • 61% was from beginning farmers (operating under 10 years).

  • 93% was from farmers of color.

  • 56% was from woman-owned farms.

  • 63% was grown in San Mateo County, 11% in Santa Cruz County, & 26% in Monterey County.
